The A-Z list below was emailed to me by a friend.
I have added information from the Bible (about friendship) below the A-Z list.
Heb 10:24 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing...
True friends encourage one another
Heb 10:24b … let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day [of Judgment] approaching.
Heb 10:24 And let us [encourage] one another on toward love and good deeds.
True friends love one another
1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 … if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
1 John 3:18 let us not love with [just] words, but with actions and in truth.
True friends forgive one another
MT 18:21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother [or sister] when he [or she] sins against me? Up to seven times?" 22Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
MT 6:14 For if you forgive men [or women] when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men [or women] their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
1JN 4:19 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother [or sister or mom or dad], he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother [sister, mom, dad].
True friends help each other
Gal 6:9 Let us not become [tired of] doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
James 2:15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
1JN 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
True friends speak well of each other
3JN 1:5 Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers, even though they are strangers to you. 6 They have told the church about your love.
3JN 1:11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone--and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.
True friends do not gossip about each other
JAS 4:11 Brothers [and sisters], do not slander (gossip about) one another.
True friends are God's friends
James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. 24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
JAS 4:4 people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
True friends help each other to not sin
Rom 14:21 It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother [or sister] to fall.
2 Thes 3:15 [If a Christian sins] … do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother. [for…] 1JN 5:18 we know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin…
1JN 5:16 If anyone sees [a Christian] commit a sin …, he should pray [for that Christian] …
True friends pray for each other
3JN 1:2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 It gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my [friends] are walking in the truth.
True friends keep in touch with each other
3JN 1:13 I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. 14 I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name.
Pray that God would bring you True Christian friends…
